Tom Oliver is Professor of Applied Ecology at the University of Reading. He is currently seconded to the UK Government as design authority for the Defra Systems Research Programme.
He sits on the European Environment Agency scientific committee as a socioecological systems expert. He is the author of 'The Self Delusion - how we are connected and why that matters', published earlier this year.
